In this Newsletter written by Dylan Matthews called "Everything you need to know about the war on poverty" it talks about all there really is to know about this topic. President Lyndon B. Johnson was the master mind behind the war on poverty. The war on poverty was set by the State of Union Address in 1964. All government help was created through this such as food stamps and social security. Johnson's overall goal was to cure and prevent poverty. The civil rights movement also helped the war on poverty take action. The conclusion was that it did reduce poverty and that government interference is the reason for less poverty.
I think that this website was very informative. I did not know a lot on this topic and this helped me understand the concept as a whole and then everything that it did and everything that was involved in this. It broke it up in different parts that made it useful to better understand everything about it and not just the general concept. It gives a lot of facts and statistics and even a video to make this useful. Overall I do think that this article will help anyone understand the basics of The war on poverty.
