When it
comes to the economy, nobody knows what is going to happen. Many people can estimate
what will happen in the near future, but nobody is certain for sure. It’s a game
really, you either win big or lose big. So if a person is rich and then becomes
poor he probably did a mistake and lost all of his fortune, which makes him to
blame for his poverty. While in the other hand another investor won big and got
richer. It was because of his doing that he got richer. In “Rip, the Middle
Class: 1946-2013”, McClelland exemplifies what has been going on in the middle
class. And that the government is to blame for its disappearance. The middle
class doesn’t exist anymore because the government did not intervene in any
way, making the rich richer and the poor, poorer.
“From Nickle
and Dimed”, Barbara Ehrenreich illustrates a story about a maid’s life while
working for others. Speaking about her co-workers and friends. How they make
too little to actually earn a living. Arguing that a person can’t live a good
life with the money she earns and that it is not her fault that she can’t get
out of poverty, when the rich pay her so little.
