The Death of Pretty and Dadbod

"The Death Of Pretty" and "Dadbod: A New Word for a Timeless Physique" both talk about image. "The Death Of Pretty" talks about pretty verses hot while "Dadbod" talks about how easy it is to achieve the guy body norm and how girls are subjected to be a size zero. The two articles have different meanings on what is "attractive", and hit different specific topics, but they both talk about image and how one should look or perceive their self to others.
In "The Death Of Pretty" blog by Pat Archbold, he is very repetitive on the idea that "girls don't want to be pretty". He focuses on the fact that they want to be hot instead. Most girls, in my opinion, do not necessarily want to viewed as "hot" over "pretty", but they want to just be viewed as attractive in some way. Pat talks about how in the musical "Grease" actress, Olivia Newton John, ditches the "pretty" and goes for the "hot" in the end. Girls change in order to get attention from others, not necessarily to get rid of their incontinence, just to get attention.
In "Dadbod: A New Word for a Timeless Physique" they are talking about how it is okay for a guy to have the body that reads "play sports, eat pizza" but that fro men and society to view woman as attractive they must be in "the holy size zero". It is so much easier for a guy to fit in with a "dadbod", all they have to do is workout a little bit, drink a lot of beer and eat a lot of food (aka what most guys in college do) verses being a girl and starving yourself and constantly working out so you're a size zero. The norm "dadbod" is a body that men can be comfortable in.
